It can help reinforce a feeling I am having. Music does so many different things!
I'll keep a rotation going to keep the selections fresh.
A Few Jams I've Made:
This section is for exactly what it sounds like. I like to make up original tunes and I want to share them. Music is the silver lining surrounding a lot of what I'm trying to do for mental health awareness. I am not a professional musician. This is just a fun hobby of mine.
Music is great! A lot of the time, when I do these songs, the songs will follow my mood. Not this time, which is awesome, as my mood followed the music this go-around. I've been a bit out of whack and I know I need to be better at some things for my wellbeing. Music is a great reminder, and can be such a great booster, for what we need to be doing and focusing on in our lives.
We have got to Let Go of things which weigh us down. I've been working hard on improving new habits and letting go of old habits that do not serve a purpose. Especially anything which negatively affects my mental well being.
I wrote this tune for my wife. My Rock. She is the center of my core group of people. She helps to point me in the right direction when I am struggling. She is The One.
It is so easy to get stuck in our pasts. We also tend to over worry about our futures. Both of these elements will remain a part of our lives. We just need to move our focus away from them and worry more about Being Present, Today.
Our lives don't always have to be driven by negative occurrences. They happen, but we need to really hone in on the positive moments. For me, when my mind is feeling good, I like to let my Mind Wander and sit back In Wonder at what it can accomplish.
I am not a mental healthcare professional nor am I trained in dealing with mental health crisis. I am someone who is working on my own mental health daily. I do want to share my story and my ongoing journey with you. Mostly, I want you to know you are not alone.
